HD Trailer “Treasures of the Mojave Desert” Summer 2010.

Mojave Desert, CA…

Wednesday, April 13th 2010

Hello everyone,

I have been working on a massive secret project for the last 6 months and decided to unveil a small teaser of the short film to come.
The film is simply titled “Treasures of the Mojave Desert”. This film was inspired by all the beauty and hidden locations that I’ve discovered in this wonderful desert I call my home.
Everything is shot in High Definition 1080p with my Canon 5D MKII. My primary lenses so far have been the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS Telephoto Lens and my trusty Canon 17-40mm f/4.0L Wide Angle lens.

I am a bit short on the gear at the moment, so I am pulling funds together for 3 more lenses that will lend a hand to my project.
I’m expecting to finish his short film by late Summer 2010, so please bare with me. =)

I still have a few more destinations to make after I get my lenses, so hopefully, I can deliver on time.
Until the, here is a small clip from the project to date, enjoy!

“Cheers!”

Thank you so much Jo!
I’m inspired by all the great places I have seen out here in this beautiful desert and with the introduction of that Omm Writer program you showed me, I was able to choose a fitting soundtrack ^__^
Definitely looking forward to shooting this thing! =D

Thank you so much Aimee. I have sooo much traveling to do it’s not even funny. I just did an experiment last night with my 17-40mm f/4.0L to see if I could get a decent star field shot with minimal ISO. Unfortunately I ended up with ISO 6400 and this was in the darkest part of the desert I could find 35 miles away.
The good news is that I set the 17-40 at 24mm and shot again to see if it would be wide enough. Fortunately it was, so I know now what I must get. The 24,, f/1.4L is next on the purchase list ;)
